Volunteering
According to the Australian Bureau of Stats (ABS), around 4.4 million Australians volunteer each year. Young people make up an ever-increasing number of volunteers within Australia.
Why volunteer?
People choose to become a volunteer for a variety of reasons – to make a difference in their community, to support a worthwhile cause or to gain skills and experience needed to get a job.
By becoming a volunteer you can:
- Get the skills and experience you need to get a job, whether it be casual, part time or full time.
- Take the chance to explore different types of jobs and help you choose the right career for you.
- Meet new people and experience new challenges.
- Help others and make a difference within your community.
