Parenting

Raising a child at any age can be a huge job. Along with all the joys of being a young parent there are bound to be a few extra stresses and problems. The most important thing is to make sure you have all the information to get you through. It is also a good thing to remember that it is ok to ask for help.

The Raising Children website is a government-funded resource that gives parents the power to make informed choices about how they raise their kids.

The Children, Youth and Women’s Health Service has helpful information for teenage parents, including looking after your child, yourself and where to go to get help.

They also have a book of stories and information about pregnancy, birth and parenting written by, for and about young parents. You can download a free version of the publication ‘Guide Of Sanity & Survival for Young Parents’.
