The National Indigenous Youth Leadership Group (NIYLG) 2005-06 was the last term to operate as a separate Indigenous youth consultative mechanism. In 2007, the NIYLG was consolidated with the National Youth Roundtable (Roundtable).
Roundtable 2007 has increased to 44 members, including 12 Indigenous young people. It provides an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous young people to work together and learn from each other. It gives Indigenous young people an opportunity to be heard on issues other than those considered to be Indigenous.
Strong Indigenous representation of at least 12 members will be maintained in future Roundtables.
